New overhaul on the Orø ferry

Last year, we had an urgent task on the Orø ferry when a fishing net got stuck in one of the propeller systems, causing leakage in the propeller’s packing box. The ferry had to go into emergency dry dock at Assens Shipyard, and our service technicians quickly arrived on site to solve the problem. After a well-executed job, the ferry returned to its ferry route between Orø and Holbæk.

Now, the Orø ferry has been back in dry dock at Assens Skibsværft, where we sent our service technicians, Johs Schmidt and Daniel Einarsson, to remove one of the thrusters. It was subsequently transported to our workshop in Esbjerg, where we overhauled it.

Everything from bearings, lines, gaskets, and O-rings in the thruster was replaced. Our technicians transported it back to Assens, where it was mounted on the Orø ferry.
