From the North Sea to Danish Homes

The first stop natural gas from the North Sea encounters on its way to Danish households is Ørsted’s Gas Treatment Plant in Nybro. Here, all natural gas from the North Sea is processed, purified, and tested before being distributed into the gas network.

West-Marine assisted in renovating the steam condensate cooler at the Nybro facility. Initially, it was dismantled and transported to our workshop. We disassembled the cooler down to the smallest detail.

Next, we started replacing the parts, using both stainless steel and regular galvanized steel. We also manufactured new parts, including grates, brackets, spacer rings, and most importantly, a new evaporator. We sandblasted and painted each component before conducting a pressure and leakage test of the cooling element.

Additionally, we purchased a new ATEX-approved electric motor and fan blade for the system.

The job was completed to everyone’s satisfaction, and now the cooler can last for another 15-20 years.
