What is a Screw Pump?

A screw pump BT-IL is a positive displacement pump handling lubricating fluids under fluctuating flow rates, pressure and viscosity without losing efficiency.

Pump design and construction enable silent fluid handling without turbulence. Therefore, the pumps operate at high rotational speeds with high reliability. The design of the screw pump also means that it can be used where suction capabilities are difficult, such as pumping over long distances, or where the pump is located above the liquid.

The self-priming screw pump BT-IL from Azcue Pump in Spain is used where larger quantities of fuel oils or lubricants are transferred. The screw pump is horizontal in design with inline suction and discharge, delivered flanged as standard.

Function of a Screw Pump

Azcue’s screw pump consists of three spindles surrounded by a pump casing.

The medium, f.inst. oil is transported axially through the pump via the chambers that arise between the casing and the spindles.

Each pump is designed to fit your process, resulting in greater efficiency and lower lifetime costs in terms of wear and energy consumption. All pumps are tested individually before leaving the factory. The screw spindle pump is type registered by Lloyds / ABS.

Like the other pumps in the Azcue program the screw spindle pump BT-IL benefits from interchangeable part for reduced on board stockholding. The task of replacing a pump prematurely that just needs maintenance won’t be necessary.
